We spent the last year getting our rig back in shape to make us feel good about getting back on the road. New tires, awning, slide toppers, refrigerator, TVs and wireless LTE modem/router for the Internet that includes TV streaming.
The Truck got an uplift also... New Tires, 4 inch exhaust from the turbo back, cold air intake, and performance chip that adds up to 140 additional HP. Of course for towing the fifth wheel we dial it down to 50 additional HP. We added a 33 row transmission cooler to keep the tranny below 160 degrees. This maiden voyage proved all of the above to be very good modifications.
During the trip we also had the steering box adjusted and one of the airbags for the rear suspension replaced. The other airbag failed during the trip home so we will have a new set of airbags under the rear of the truck.
Our trip started out at the Eastbank Campground on Lake Seminole near Chattahoochee, FL for tw nights. then to Perry, GA for one night before getting to Modoc Campground in Modoc, SC on Lake Thurmond. What a great Corp of Engineers camp! We plan to visit there again when we can stay for two weeks. After leaving there we went to Carowinds Camp Wilderness for 7 nights before moving on to the Ebeneezer Park Campground for 14 Nights in Rock Hill, SC and visited our son and his Wife. My son and I went to the 4 Wide Nationals NHRA drag race for three days during our visit and had a blast! Our ladies joined us for the first day of racing and then they were off doing girl stuff.
So we are back home now to finish the clean up process after Hurricane Michael. This will hopefully be completed in the next 3 to 4 months depending on or energy level!! LOL
